G52 Good Friday Walk of Witness
The Annual Report presented at the Annual General Meeting in October 2011 called everyone to remember with a little humour that the year of events got of to a halting start … following the start of the big snow of winter 2010!
Thereafter, however, the group set out on what was a fruitful year for the work of the gospel and ecumenism in the area ... led by Hilary Gallacher who had taken up the roll of Vice-Chair and G52 Cor-ordinator.
The group organised the normal events that have been such a facet of the group’s history such as Carol’s by Candlelight, Prayers for Christian Unity Week, Lent Bible Study and The Good Friday Walk of Witness.
New developments included the printing and distribution of the G52 leaflet to over 15,000 homes in the Cardonald, Hillington Penilee area with grateful thanks to the proprietors of Nemo’s Fish Bar who arranged for these to be delivered through their own distributors and in terms of our publicity, this website was also launched.
But there were additional events too which included a charitable social event held at Penilee St Andrew with the ‘Sons of Thunder’ band as well as discussions on baptism and an opportunity to participate in a demonstration at Faslane Naval Base.
The report in all showed that the group is developing in many ways as is the Co-ordinating Group and you can find details of that on the appropriate tab above. It it is nice to report that as well as a full compliment of office bearers, we have a new addition to the group Mrs Joyce Cowie of Our Lady and St George. Contact us if you'd like to get involved.
